Between, ein and such, we’ve been claiming a bunch of fafs, and today we claimed nid.  M and E body dropped, giving us 3 King abjs in 4 days, which is pretty sweet!  Best part is we were there for first 2(3?) windows for nid, and left to do ein, after ein had 16min to get back to aery for the last window… needless to say zoned in @ 2min til and claimed with 1 tank (5ppl total).  More ppl were inc, so we didn’t have a problem.  Oh! and yay for Nid title!

Pretty intense week off from work.  Had allot of fun ingame, and got some important shit outside of it done as well.  In game however, the ls i’m in has been dominating.  We got cerbs, timmys, khimmys… it was intense!  I also got in some needed meriting, assaulting and some missions.  But where to start!

Got my Omega ring after ein on wed.  Might not have been the ‘best’ choice for me to get, but hey…  No tamas anymore, and with no d.chap, figured it’d be good to have that.  I like it, and while my rdm isn’t ‘complete’ yet, I’ve been having allot of fun on it lately.  Speaking of rdm! finally a Hbomb popped on the AH and I bought it (700k ew).  I used to have one, but sold it when i joined DRF and was on thf all the time and needed a blau.  Also! finally got the second mat for rdm AF1 upgrade.  I didn’t know if I wanted the chap or tabard, but i went with the Chap.  I think it was a good choice.  I’ve also got the pieces for a nin upgrade (i’ve had them for a while) but I already have the +1 boots, and don’t really need anything else.  I’ll probably just do the head for kicks.  Actually! I’ll save my ABC’s for cor af upgrades.

I finally got around to finishing my Toau missions. First I gotta say, gj SE.  That story and plot line was allot of fun, and ontop of that, the last few fights weren’t cake.  They were allot of fun that’s for damn sure.  I actually stayed up until about 2am this morning doing them and getting the last few cs’.  I decided to get the DD ring as I’m almost always thf for Salvage. It’s pretty sweet with the +4 attack, as well as the acc.  You also get the flag and crown, however I wish the crown served some sort of purpose….  But oh well.  Actually, I wish it didn’t look ugly on mithra too lol.  I’m getting really close to finishing Assaults as well, so this will help me get captain right when I’m done with all of those.  I think i’ve only got like 5 left or something… maybe 7.  We’re attempting another Ein tonight, TierIII so we can get some more Odin.  I hope he drops some nlegs or a dalmatica!  I doubt it, but I can dream!  It will be fun to see how things turn out.

Yay for 2min recast!  We got a good pt together and just rocked some birds for a bit.  My highest ws was 1924, which is pretty sweet for flailing about with butter knives.  My only gripe is that people love to camp on top of you at bird camps.  I’m not sure why people think that fighting for pops is even worth the time, but they do it… constantly.  We always put up a seacom when we merit… which says what camp we’re at… so I just don’t get the logic of some people.  It’s just common sense isn’t it?  To not camp on other pts?  The other pt actually called a GM this time and tried to say they were there first…. Classy to lie to a GM…. friggin addwizards.  Not to mention that I doubt a GM really gives two craps about merit parties.

I totally got to tank a few things this week on NIN/DRK as well.  It was allot of fun, and I hope I get to do it a little more.  /DRK is a friggin hate machine with stun, and while I definetly need a few more pieces to be a little more efficient.  My DD nin (lol) is complete, but definetly not my tanking nin.  I definetly still need that throwing star with enmity on it (forgot name) but there are never any on the AH recently.  Maybe a Ritter Gorget would be nice, a Cerb mantle wouldn’t hurt, nor would a BQ ring and mermaids rings.  Other than that… to be honest…. it’s pretty easy. Well It wouldn’t be easy to say solo tank some stuff, but duo, it’s not bad. I definetly need more practice, which I hope I can get.  I also need to adjust some of my macro’s to switch between all enmity and all haste for utsu recast.  I’d say the hardest part was not being able to use stun as a hate tool at Khimmy.  Cerb was allot easier to transfer hate between myself and the pld.

On the thief front, really lucked out on some alky bracelets earlier in the week.  I went up and first gigas gave me a pop item, popped alky and I got that drop too.  5 minutes for 600k isn’t bad lol.  Usually i’m nervous to DD big things on thf because of the amount of TP I will feed to it, but we did a JoJ yesterday and I ended up tanking it because of both tanks being charmed at the same time.  I just collab’d the drk and held it quite easily… the only problem being that I couldn’t keep hate if a mage took it.  No torque, and the sword (lol) went to me.  I’ll have to get some stones and play with it on rdm or thf.   Finally after about 5 synths I got a leo +1 synthed.  No special stats on it or anything, but it’s the lowest delay xbow for thf out there.  Which should totally help when there’s a little too much competition at alky, and definetly during salvage.  New toys! yay!  Well back to watching for some Timmy, hopefully we can get bobo some gaiters if it pops soonish.  Wish us luck!~

So, yay @ paid vacation!  I’ve got 7 days off paid from work… which is totally a first for me.  Getting paid to not work?  AWESOME!  Totally gonna spend some time doing some missions and whatnot ingame, and also try to spend some time with RL friends.  I definetly want to get these ToAU missions done with… I’m down to 8 wins for Captain… so I gotta get these missions done so that when we’re done doing these assaults I’ll be set to rank up!  As far as the rings..  Balrahn’s Ring, Ulthalam’s Ring, and Jalzahn’s Ring I’m really not sure which to pick… I’m so close to getting an Omega ring from einherjar that it’d be a nice team up with Balrahns, however the salvage bonus would be awesome for thf from Ulthalam’s.  Idk… what do you think?

I like that the community has come together to discuss this whole 18hr+ PW and AV for that matter, fights.  It seems that the community doesn’t really think it’s a horrible idea to have stuff that is that intense int he game, but merely that 18hrs is rediculous.  What person that works has 18hours to fight something like that?  In a game where balance is always an issue; it’s like saying that only people that live in their parents basement deserve to get the gear off of these mobs.
While I say that, I don’t mean to talk down towards the people who have recently attempted PW, I think it takes allot courage to try something like that, and good for you for doing what 99% of the ffxi community wishes they had the time to do. Don’t forget your friends, family work… unless you want some of the best gear in the game… then it’s expected!  I wish that LS the best of luck if they try again, it’s exciting knowing that there are LS’ prepared and ready to try new and difficult things in FFXI, and it’s refreshing that they would share their experience about it with the community.

In personal ingame news, I did dyna xarc last night.  Finally saw a Deulist’s Chapeau drop…  Congrats to Liseth!  Finally a rdm who knows what they’re doing gets that hat!  I’ve seen/heard of it going to people who not only don’t have a clue, but don’t have the gear to back up such an impressive piece of gear.  I can only hope that should we see another; that I get the chance to lot.  I’m pretty much a main thf at this point, but for most HNM’s I’m on rdm.  With the rest of enfeeb gear possible to stack on resistant bastards like cerb/khim I think I’m a good candidate! Don’t you?  RDM will always be my favorite job, I’ve spent so much time learning things, trying things, and doing things with my RDM, it’s like my baby!  It’s weird being a main thf after spending so much time on rdm.  But like most people (I hope) I put everything I could into thf to make it decent for the LS, and without a doubt I have been awarded accordingly.  In a ls that is only a few months old, I’ve currently recieved: Homam body/legs, Love torque, Skadi feet/legs.  That’s an insane amount of gear due to it’s impressiveness, and I’m happy to be thf for my LS.  During this xarc run we also tried DL for the first time as a LS… needless to say it was cake! (vanilla) Full drops too! So that was awesome.

Think we’re doing another Omega tonight and a BV2.  I also only need about 8 more merits to get my Feint recast down to 2minutes.  Which is pretty awesome, think i’ll work on finishing SA and TA recast after that, then do some into Aura Steal, then finish up topping off my RDM merits.

Oh man, we’ve been getting the jerk around in ein past two tier 3’s we’ve done.  Got Imps, buffalo, and something else lame.  The boss was Freke(cerberus) and we got it to 11% in like 2 minutes then timed out.  I’m already at about 13k ampoules though, so that’s sweet.  I don’t think i’ll get another item yet and just store points for a nyzul relic.

Assaults are doing great too, I’ve been staticing wins for rank ups for a while now, and I only have 10 wins left until i’m done with all of them.  Which is pretty awesome considering i was Corporal when I started, and FL now.  The FL assaults seem like they’ll be difficult, but allot of fun.  A huge thanks goes out to Bobbyray who organized this static and put allot of work into coordinating wins and such.

I get my first ever paid vacation off of work starting monday.  I can’t friggin wait…. I need the time off for my sanity… My job makes me crazy.  However while I’ll spend allot of time on FFXI, i’ll probably take some time to just nap and have some quite time.  ……. I sound so old…..

So we all know I love the LS i’ve been in for a while now, and it’s really comming along nicely.  We’ve gotten some really sweet HNM’s, and have still been doing some nice events.

Did more Ein, only need one more run for another Odin.  Did a Bv2, got staff and mask (epic).  Got a Cerbx2, 2x Algol’s, got Khimmy… go go seveneyes (Grats bobo :D) and got another Timmy, this one with full drops.

We’ve also been perfecting our salvage run for the Arp Boss… it’s been rough as that last floor before the boss usually gives us troubles (as well as lame drop rates on first floor for cells).  But we’re working on it, and it’s comming along well.  It’s actually the last Boss we’ve yet to kill as a group, so we’re excited for that (and i’m excited that it can drop the last piece i need for skadi legs).

In other news, dropped my tamas ring a while back, and i’ll be getting a rajas on Tuesday…. with that and skadi legs (when i get them) it will turn my my build into 1 less hit (i think it’s only one) to get to 100tp… which is kind of lol… but c’mon for thf it’s pretty ballin’
